  1. I have the same issue with my Macbook Pro that I recently ordered as well, and it turns out that the Köln entries aren’t from Köln but just showing that they’ve gotten information about them needing to receive the package, along with clearing the package for export and such. So most likely it’s in some container in Shanghai, waiting along with a metric shitload (whatever that is) to get sent whenever the airspace clears enough that UPS feels it’s safe to send flights to Germany again (and can get through their rather large backlog, which is also going to take some time, I imagine).

    Still waiting for mine..

  2. Thanks for that, it makes sense. My Delivery Status now shows:

Apple entry: Shipment delayed due to weather conditions – please contact carrier for update. Delivery by yesterday

UPS entry: Package data processed by brokerage. Waiting for clearance / released by clearing agency. Now in-transit for delivery: Koeln (Cologne), DE. Delivery date unknown

  3. Mine is as follows:

Apple entry: Shipment delayed due to weather conditions – please contact carrier for update.

UPS entry (last three, shortened it down a bit): SHANGHAI, CN 04/20/2010 11:24 A.M. NATURAL DISASTER SHANGHAI, CN 04/20/2010 10:44 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN KOELN, DE 04/20/2010 3:55 A.M. PACKAGE DATA PROCESSED BY BROKERAGE. WAITING FOR CLEARANCE / RELEASED BY CLEARING AGENCY. NOW IN-TRANSIT FOR DELIVERY.

So there -is- a departure scan on it, which means I don’t know whether the plane has been rerouted or what on earth has happened.

  4. It seems that my MBPro has been in Köln then back in Shanghai and then again in Köln!?!? Doesnt make any sense 🙂

  5. UK airports opened again last night (Tuesday 20 April). I expect things will start moving later today, although they may have a large backlog to clear.

  7. I really hope they send my MBP soon! I really can’t wait and I have this obsessive tendency to refresh the UPS tracking page! Losing sleep over this too 🙁

  8. An update! Mine’s gone from Shanghai to Korea and is now in transit to Europe:

    INCHEON, KR 04/22/2010 10:53 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN INCHEON, KR 04/22/2010 9:01 A.M. ARRIVAL SCAN SHANGHAI, CN 04/22/2010 7:13 A.M. DEPARTURE SCAN

Maybe it was never in Cologne at all?

  9. I curse you Sir! Where is mine??

I’ve had this with UPS before, the tracking updates are not necessarily geographically linear. The location can jump about based on various admin tasks as the previous poster mentioned.

  10. this is odd…..my departure scan is earlier than Chris’s (20th vs 22nd) and yet his update is faster than mine?

IS THIS THE END OF THE WORLD ALREADY?!

I think UPS is trying to unload cargo as it sends things to europe….a cost-effective way of sending goods I suppose

  11. Just tweeted by @UPS_Europe:

It will take time to clear backlog of shipments & UPS customers may still experience delays but we expect backlog to be cleared end of week.

  12. Another update! Thursday, 1850 UK time: Arrival scan, Warsaw, PL

It’s getting closer! Do the twitter posts from @UPS_Europe mean that it will be delivered tomorrow (Friday)?

  13. Awesome! Just found out mine is still in Shanghai! Ah well, hope you enjoy yours when it turns up, sounds like soon.

  14. Well, it arrived at 0930 this morning (Friday)!

When I checked at 0800 UPS were reporting that it had arrived in Stansted at 0550 and would be delivered by Monday. When I checked again a few minutes’ later it had changed to “Out for delivery today”.

So my new 15″ i7 MacBook Pro is now transferring all my data by firewire from the old machine. 57 minutes until I can play with it!

Hope you all don’t have to wait too long for yours…
